- 2 nights — A hotel in Srinagar. Your base for the lake, the gardens and the old city — 3-star, comfortable, close in.
- 1 night — On a houseboat. Carved cedar rooms on Dal Lake itself. The night people talk about afterwards.
- 1 night — In Pahalgam. Up in the mountains, with the river outside and the valleys a short drive away.
- 5 days — Private transport. The same car and driver throughout, including airport pickup and drop.

What is a good 5 day Kashmir itinerary?
Day 1 arrive in Srinagar, day 2 Srinagar to Gulmarg and back, day 3 Srinagar to Pahalgam, day 4 Pahalgam back to Srinagar, day 5 departure. That covers Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Dal Lake without a rushed day, and includes a night on a houseboat.
Is 5 days enough for Kashmir?
Yes for the main four places — Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Dal Lake. If you want Sonmarg as well, or fewer hotel changes, take the 5 nights / 6 days version which travels the same route more slowly.
How much does a 5 day Kashmir trip cost?
